About Port Everglades Webcam

The "World Famous" Port Everglades Webcam (formerly the MortgageMobile Webcam) now has its own website!

Since January of 2006, millions of viewers from around the globe have enjoyed the beautiful tropical views of Port Everglades Inlet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from our user controlled webcam. Being the first and original webcam on Port Everglades, we have gone through many changes and improvements over the years and will continue to deploy new enhancements in the future.

After the Oasis of the Seas arrival in November of 2009, I received an email from David who develops webcam technology in California. Like most viewers reading this, David spent quite a bit of time enjoying our beautiful tropical views. He asked if I would mind if he ran an experiment that would regularly archive still images from our webcam. The rest is history…

After months of testing, David created a new website (PortFever) to archive webcam captures and to rebroadcast the webcam feed through an alternate site. Well, needless to say, all the testing gave us new ideas and we decided to separate the webcam from my mortgage site and create its own identity. Along with the new website came more testing with new cutting edge technology, including a state-of-the-art HD webcam.

We are now broadcasting LIVE STREAMING HDTV with STEREO SOUND! A significant leap forward in both quality and audience reach. To date, our sound channels include live VHF marine radio from in and around the Port, together with live horn blasts and all the crowd excitement during sail-away. Our webcam is located in the best possible location for both sail-away and viewing ships while docked. As many viewers have commented, the cruise ship horns seem to blast just as they reach our location!

In 2012, we added the Fort Lauderdale Webcam in partnership with Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. Both to enhance our views of Port Everglades and also to broaden our viewing reach to 17th Street, the Marina, Intracoastal Waterway and all points North, South and West.

We plan to continue making improvements to our webcam quality, as well as the unique features that can only be found on our websites. We also plan to continue our expansion to other cruise ports as we have done with Port Canaveral, New York Harbor and Port of Miami. The best is yet to come…
